Spinal Cord Injury Ontario

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario provides a range of services to clients with spinal cord injuries and mobility disabilities. This support can start from acute care, through to rehabilitation and re-integration back into the community.

SCI Ontario's vision is to champion excellence in service, advocacy and quality of life for people living with spinal cord injuries. Its mission is to assist people with spinal cord injuries or other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation.

The Centre for Family Medicine - Family Health Team

The Centre For Family Medicine-Family Health Team (CFFM-FHT) in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON runs a Mobility Clinic for patients with mobility challenges. These patients have a spinal cord injury or neurologic and musculoskeletal-related disabilities that makes it difficult for them to receive healthcare from their family physician, or they may have a hard time finding a family doctor.

The Mobility Clinic’s inter-professional health team includes:
  • nurses
  • social workers
  • an occupational therapist
  • a physiotherapist
  • a pharmacist
  • and a chiropractor
These healthcare providers work together with the team family physician to make sure you get the best care possible.
